[** Treoracha i mBéarla; Ábhar i nGaeilge agus i nGearmáinis **] This site is suitable for use as a language learning resource tool for beginners in Irish and German.
Its primary objective is to reinforce basic language skills taught in the classroom.
Ideally the student would be taught the particular foundation lessons using the teacher's preferred methods. This site is useful as an extra reinforcement for skills that have been taught to the student in other ways.
The student first chooses the language involved - Irish or German.
The navigation bar lists the 5 topics, the exercises (including revision exercises) and information for teachers and students.
Each topic is divided into a games section and an exercise section.
This site is comprised of
(1) 5 learning modules in Irish and 5 learning modules in German.
Each module has a game and a set of exercises related to the topic. The learning sections concentrate on basic language skills. The game uses the vocabulary in a language list available in the exercise section. The exercises are a reinforcement for the game and vice versa.
Each exercise is comprised of 5 sections. The introductory section gives the vocabulary used. This can be used by the teacher in their own lesson plan and reinforced later using the game.
The next 3 sections are based on three cartoon characters and the three exercises related to them.

(2) This section containing a list of all the exercises and a link to a word document where the student can do the exercises immediately or download for use later by student or teacher. Revision exercises are included in the document. The teacher can make changes to the exercises.
(3) This section (this one) containing information about the site and instructions for the games.

- the Gaelic Resource Database
[** Comhéadan Béarla, Ábhar Gàidhlig **] the Gaelic Resource Database is an expanding database of information on the availability of Gaelic related educational resources. This work has been done in consultation with HMI, Teaching, Curriculum Development and Library Staff. Educational resources are categorised according to 3-14 National Guidelines, Secondary 3-6 stages and Higher Still where applicable. Ongoing user feedback contributes to the checking, updating and cross-referencing process. There are currently over 17,500 searchable records with additional resources being processed. The database is updated at least twice a year.
